Four months ago I got two albino longfin bristlenose plecos (Flotsam and Jetsam). They were only 3 months old when I got them; still much too young to tell whether they were male or female. But as they’ve grown up, I noticed only one was developing the characteristic bristles that males have. So, as luck would have it, I got a male/female pair anyway! It wasn’t really my intention to breed them, but out of curiosity I added a pleco breeding cave to the aquarium just to see what would happen. Like clockwork, they laid eggs! I removed the eggs and placed them into a grow-out tank to try raising them into adults and here’s what happened…
