In addition to keeping and breeding butterfly telescope goldfish, which will always be my first loves, I’m hoping to expand into some other varieties that interest me as well. Watonai are one of those varieties! Watonai have elongated, slim bodies similar to a comet or common goldfish, but they have a long double tail.
I already have a red and black watonai that I think is a female, but just needed a male to pair her with. I have always thought Rain Garden Goldfish and Flower Farm in Hawaii produced some nice watonai, so I selected this red male from them. I’m hoping that sometime soon they’ll breed and I can try my hand at raising some goldfish other than butterflies.
Now he just needs a good name, and I’m open to suggestions!
